Reporting Live from Pune

I've been home for about 4 days now. 48 hours into Pune living and I had already experienced everything there is to being "alive". Down from watching survival mode living to bursting into extreme highs, every minute aspect of your emotions are tingled. And tingled well.

Pune and maybe India as such, is changing so fast I'm not sure what to expect the next time around. But you look at your people, family, friends, family friends and the look on their face puts it all in perspective. "What were you expecting dude?"
You desperately try to hold on to the Pune you left 5 years back but that's never gonna come back to you ever, is it? Change is not going down well with me but that's not to say its a bad or a good thing.

There is a lot of love in this city and for that matter Mumbai as well. Having grown up in this side of the world, I've realized that even though I haven't yet embraced change, I belong here. This is me. Call me romantic, maybe that's what defines being a Punekar :)

Today evening, onto Mumbai! My second home.

Choti Choti Khushiyan

I'm gonna sound a little nerdy, but it iz bhaat it iz. I use emacs as my preferred editor of choice while coding. I think everyone should be using this editor (vi/vim is crap) and I'll get a lot of disagreement here but I'm gonna stick to it.

However, I did recently think that there was one tiny flaw in the editor. I searched high and low to see if there was a way to do what I wanted it to do, outside its default behavior. Most solutions were kinda clunky and I kinda painfully accepted it until today. I found that perfect one command switch way of doing it. Just like that, out of nowhere.

Yeah I know it means nothing on the face of it. But it does. Choti choti khushiyan. I've been using that switch all day today. It's funny how excited you get on discovering that one gold coin when you already own a million of  them.

Nerrrrddddd!!!! I know and it's ok.

In exactly a month's time, I'll be back home. Such a brilliant feeling.

Aaah! :)
Bas, that's all. More when I feel like it.

One Day

One Day, one day God willing, I'll be able to play like The Man.
Till then, here's what I'm talking about:

Monday, November 1, 2010

Man, I have such a long way to go with the guitar. Some days I enjoy it more that the others. Tonight was a so-so night, I learnt something new but couldn't quite master it. Tomorrow, will try again.

Fundamentals of Caring

Timely reminder that there is so much good in this world if we could only keep it simple. This movie (and the book it is based on) shows us...
