I have always struggled with being a regular at reading the Bible. One big stumbling block has been the lack of coherency to what I was reading and also the lack of time/ability to interpret His Word. My mom is a regular at Daily Bread and I admire her for that.
For those of you struggling with the same and also coming from the tech savvy generation, I strongly advocate Our Daily Bread , the online daily bread. It's probably the best way I've found to get a little coherency and also become a regular at it. The best part of it is I have access to it wherever I go (Internet remember?) and I don't have to depend on the early morning or late night when I have access to the Bible.

Mutton Biryani
The first time you learn cooking from mom, you pretty much concentrate on the big things, try and get them right. That's probably the way to go cause you know head nor tail of what it means to fry, little simmer, etc.
Of course over time you learn the nuances but this time on your own, trial and error and essentially develop your own style of cooking. Now I see my mom cooking Mutton Biryani and it's a revelation of sorts. I must have asked myself the question "How could I have not noticed that??" about 15 times now.
Next aim in life: Cook Mutton Biryani as well as mom's. By the time I get that accomplished and learn guitar, I will be done. Except that it might take me an entire lifetime to achieve perfection (yes, Mom's Mutton Biryani is perfect). Worth living a lifetime for a noble cause, no? :)
Mutton Biryani for lunch coming up in like 75 mins!!
And of course World Cup Germany - Australia!! Perfect, no?
Muhahahahahahaha!!!

Chai
My mom has passed on to me all the tips for cooking and for the most parts I am pretty happy with my preparations (although cannot compare to mom's food). But chai has been my biggest stumbling block. It might seem simple but I just couldn't figure out how to make those "jhakaas" teas. Every time I got the feeling of nearly there but not quite.
At last I've found the secret ingredient that gives it the "jhakaas" factor. And (wait for it)... the secret ingredient is adrak (ginger). It simply has to be there else your chai is not complete.
So there... again with eternal thanks to mom.
Sunday will be mom's mutton biryani. Aich!!! :)

It's Criminal to Wake Up Before Sunrise
Point Noted.
I never will talk matters of importance or sense in the first half an hour after I wake up. I make an absolute fool of myself. My absolute detest for waking up in the morning is compounded by the fact that my CPU takes even longer after the hatred has translated to acceptance before I can be operational. To add to the misery, I hear myself uttering those words and painfully enough I can't take it back. I just go through that horrible moment of "What The!!!" I need to respect my CPU and not jump ahead of it.
Again, point noted.

Do It Right
Is it true that good things happen to good people?
My take on it is that goodness follows goodness. It's not that good people look for good things. They find goodness in everything that they see. That's what makes life so good for them.
What Jesus mentioned in Mathew 18:3 isn't really rocket science. "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Jesus, during His time on earth, didn't really talk earth shattering stuff. Yet He did. It was in His simple statements that He really revolutionized our thinking.
I don't think we ever lose the ability to think simple, do the things that really makes us happy, benevolence and all that jazz. We chose not to. For some reason that makes sense as we grow older. They call it maturity, some call it experience. I call it naansense.
Live it up, man. You only get to live this life once.

Liph is Good
How many of us really get to live our dreams? Very small percentage, no?
I wanted to be in that bracket of people, and from the looks of it, I already am.
Kay Ata!

Happy Easter to All!
I'm in PDX :)
Yesterday I met this guy Jason on my flight to PDX. Football (soccer) player getting back home (to Portland) from Tampa, FL and he was itching to get back. I could so relate to that feeling, in fact I still feel that when I go to PDX. Being a football player, it was a given that he was a cool guy (football players are always super cool). The only reason I am mentioning him in this post is that he was such a happy guy. Very oblivious to the world around him, just happy spreading the "feel good" spirit (even with the air hostess') in the flight and also while exiting he had some jokes to share. We talked about random stuff in the beginning, how we both didn't exactly like the rudeness that comes with the east coast and the coolness about life in west but it was really when we both found out our love for football that our outlook changed. It was almost an enlightening of sorts. Suddenly, full respect for each other. High fives, we started talking about cool stuff. How the pretense of work life sucked (until then we were talking about our profession). He offered to come play for his team this Wednesday, I gladly accepted it but later realized I hadn't got along my football gear. I might still try and go though.
I am looking forward to an awesome Easter in Portland, well work life after that and a mini reunion the next weekend. I need to find time for Communnect in between all this, and somehow I think I will.
